Block 14 was inspired by one of my heroes and role models, a Polish martyr and Saint called Maximilian Kolbe, who, while at Auschwitz outside of block 14, volunteered to take the place of a fellow prisoner sentenced to the starvation bunker. After two weeks in the bunker Kolbe was martyred by way of lethal injection.

Prisoners who encountered Kolbe and survived their time at Auschwitz joyfully recalled the hope of a life beyond the war, something his presence brought into their hearts and minds. Fellow captive, Jozef Stemler, recalled something Kolbe said to him in the face of the cruelty and fear all around them:

"Hatred is not creative, only love is creative."

It is said that, truth, once spoken, suddenly ceases to remain in any one person's possession, and instead becomes both everybody's and nobody's. "Only love is creative," is a truth that Kolbe has taught me, but it isn't meant to be hidden away between the two of us. Block 14 Creative is my way of sharing that truth with the world.

I love the people with whom and projects upon which I am blessed to work. My hope is to create a finished product that represents you, your story, your family, your company, etc... that you will love forever.
